"BudgetMate" Full-Stack Budgeting Web-app

University of Kansas School of Engineering Capstone Project 1 August 2024 – December 2024

GitHub: github.com/andrewvand02/BudgetMate

In this project we worked as a team to create a budgeting assistant web-app using frameworks such as NodeJS. The web-app includes both client (frontend) and server (backend), with functionality to let users input and visualize their income and expenses as well as receive (generative) AI suggestions on how to improve their budget using OpenAI's API.

"Workshop" VR Drone-Building Game in Unity

University of Kansas School of Engineering Capstone Project 2 January 2025 – May 2025

GitHub: github.com/maelikax/EECS582VR

We worked as a team to build a Virtual Reality game in the Unity game engine that allows players to assemble the components of drones such as a quadcopter and space rover. Players pick and place components by hand and can test their completed drone in an environment specific to the drone (Earth near-surface for the quadcopter; Mars surface for the rover).
